National Treasure

Two, three of four part course.

Part One: Students will take session one where they will learn highlights about USA history that they will learn in the movie National Treasure. They will be given scavenger hunt style worksheets to use as they watch the movie.

Part Two: Students will take part two after they have watched the 1st National Treasure movie. We will discuss the historical parts of the movie and how they are important to US History. Students will take a virtual field trip to some of the sites they saw in the movie.

Part Three: Students watch National Treasure 2 (Book of Secrets) before session three. We will discuss the historical parts of this movie and their importance to US History. Students will take a virtual field trip to some of the sites they saw in the second film.

Eureka! Gold Rush Adventure

In this adventure students will become modern-day explorers and travel back to the Wild West. They will learn about the California Gold Rush and the impacts that had it had on California. Including the impact it has on our daily life today! From their personal computer they will visit old mining towns, learn about the Wild West, learn about mining for gold, listen to gold rush inspired songs, go on a scavenger hunt in their own home, learn about ghost towns and hear fascinating stories.

1776 Time-Travelers

Roads…where we’re going we don’t need roads! That’s because there were no cars in 1776. Your student will adventure back in time to 1776 and learn about the founding fathers of America and the steps they took to make USA the nation that it is today. They will learn about the key players in the Revolution and will even visit these places in a virtual field trip.

Learn the 50 States

Get your boots and hat on and get ready for a boot-scootin’ hoot hollerin’ song and dance to learn the 50 states and their capitals. Students will also try their hand at a 50-states puzzle to practice where they are located. Puzzle and follow-up available for practice after the session is completed so students can practice at home.

*Students will need about 10’ clearance around their computer to MOVE and GROOVE. (Non-dancing version available)

The Great USA Road Trip

Two or Three Part course.

Gather some snacks and get your “passport” ready…we’re going to hit the road for our Great USA road trip. Students will take a virtual field trip to some of the USA’s greatest historical sights. In this adventure they will not only visit these locations virtually, but they will learn about their importance in US history. *Great Pre-5th grade and pre-7th grade experience as they prepare to learn US history in school.

Students will get “stamps” in their “adventure passports” as they travel with me across the nation.

Session One: Sights include: Mount Rushmore, Philadelphia (Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell), and Gettysburg.

Session Two: Boston and the Freedom Trail Sights, Colonial Williamsburg and Washington DC.

Go West Young Man (and young lady)

Two Options:

ADVENTURERS: Your student will become king of the wild frontier as they learn about Lewis and Clark and their expedition West. They will experience what life as a pioneer was like and the rough and tough life that these brave adventurers experienced.

COUNTRY GIRLS: Deep dive based around the Little House on the Prairie TV shows and Laura Ingalls Wilder books. Students will learn all about the life on the prairie, but will also learn some behind the scenes info about the TV show and where it was filmed. Students will earn a surprise at the end of the session- hint, hint really special for Little House on the Prairie fans.
